The co-chairs of Adventure in Citizenship 2022 have written to friends and supporters of the program across Canada, advising them of their plans for 2022. Here's what they had to say.
Dear Friends and Supporters of Adventure in Citizenship (AIC),
We have been hearing from you and know many have been keen to learn about our plans for the AIC program in 2022. With so much uncertainty surrounding the trajectory of the covid-19 pandemic, we have decided to again offer the AIC program online in 2022. Although this approach means participants will not be able to explore their understanding and appreciation of Canadian citizenship while in the National Capital, we will be building on last year’s lessons to give everyone a memorable and rewarding experience. This decision was not easy, nor the desired outcome, but we are committed to ensuring our program is not jeopardized by the course of the pandemic, nor are its participants’ health and well-being put at risk by their involvement.
That being the case, and recognizing the limits of an online program, AIC this year will extend over three days. It will feature the high-quality speakers and guests that have been the hallmark of the program, and we will be running an essay contest with cash prizes for the winners. An online social event is also being organized.
We urge you to advise your clubs and prospective participants of the 2022 plan, and we ask you to share these early details:

Registration dates: to be determined
We are excited about AIC this year, and we are confident that, despite the challenges we face, we will learn and appreciate more than ever the privilege and obligations of our Canadian citizenship. We urge you to begin identifying potential participants in your clubs and districts.
If you are not the appropriate recipient in your club of this email, please forward it to whomever is the best contact in your club and advise us accordingly. In the case of district leaders, please forward this email to your district’s club Presidents. As your program co-chairs, we will be regularly providing updates on the program as it is finalized.

Nous avons reçu de vos nouvelles et savons que beaucoup d’entre vous souhaite en savoir plus sur nos plans pour le programme AIC en 2022. Avec tant d’incertitude entourant la trajectoire de la pandémie de Covid-19, nous avons décidé d’offrir à nouveau le programme AIC en ligne, pour l’année 2022. Bien que cette approche signifie que les participants ne pourront pas explorer la citoyenneté canadienne pendant leur séjour dans la capitale nationale, nous nous appuierons sur les leçons de l’année dernière pour offrir à chacun une expérience mémorable et enrichissante. Cette décision n’a pas été facile, mais nous nous engageons à faire en sorte que notre programme ne soit pas compromis par le déroulement de la pandémie, et que la santé et le bien-être de nos participants ne soient pas mis en danger par leur implication.
Cela étant, et reconnaissant les limites d’une programmation en ligne, l’AIC s’étendra cette année sur trois jours. Il mettra en vedette des conférenciers et des invités de grande qualité qui ont toujours été la marque du programme, et nous organiserons aussi un concours de rédaction avec des prix pour les gagnants. Un événement social en ligne est également prévu.
