The Rotary Club of Ottawa Board of Directors and Committee Chairs held its year end meeting at Emerald Links Golf Club on July 12, 2017. The meeting was an opportunity to report on club activities for the Rotary year 2016-2017 and to begin the new Rotary year. Written reports from committee Chairs, Club Secretary, Treasurer and Club President, John Lark were reviewed. President John thanked all who served and highlighted a busy Rotary year. He also thanked John Clipsham, who is stepping down as Club Treasurer after 13 years in the position. Carol McCalla has graciously accepted the position. President John passed the gavel to incoming President Charles Melchers, who spoke about a number of priorities for the club.
The formal changeover meeting takes place on Monday, July 15 when all members and guests are able to recognize outgoing President John Lark, welcome incoming President Charles Melchers and to learn more the upcoming Rotary year. The Monday meeting will also serve as the Club's Annual General Meeting and approval of the Nomination Report and appointment of auditors.
